Welcome to this edition of Conservative Comedy Friday.
Doesn’t it feel sometimes like you’re watching an episode of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” whenever Trump gives an interview because, as Drew Carey always says, “everything’s made up and the points don’t matter?” We witnessed what this looks like again this week when Trump proclaimed that the same party that failed to repeal Obamacare “will soon be known as the party of health care.” A made up promise, and since points don’t matter, no details.
Whatever they come up with, the GOP should work very hard to avoid calling it TrumpCare because it will just confuse the issue with the American public. After all, we know that Trump doesn’t care about anything.
While I wait for the cult to show up to scream about how I suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome and how I’m George Soros-funded liberal — I’m still waiting on that first check — let’s take a moment to laugh at the crazy world we know as Washington politics.
The socialist agenda of the Far-Left continues to gain traction as the 2020 presidential election season gets underway. For example, thanks to the efforts of “conservative socialists” like Mike Lee and Marco Rubio, Ivanka Trump’s paid family leave is close to becoming a reality.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the #Unibrow aisle, Democratic Socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have taken to blaming American affluence and capitalism for a host of social injustices, including the so-called healthcare crisis. In reality, capitalism has created the highest quality of life in human history. In his song parody of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Californication, Reason TV’s Remy shows us how the Far-Left is suffering from a disease known as “Affluenflammation,” a condition that occurs in people living in prosperous nations where they have forgotten history.
The first day of next week is April Fools’ Day (sometimes called All Fools’ Day) and it’s usually one of the most light-hearted days of the year. Though its origins are uncertain, history is filled with the gags of famous people of every stature, even presidents. In this Remy video, presidents from every era show us how the “fools” of the past made today’s America possible.
While there are plenty examples of crooked politicians, running for president isn’t easy. Political enemies are always trying to keep you from winning, and some will go as far as to try to discover hidden and embarrassing secrets that you would rather keep hidden. Studio C shows us one politician’s struggle in this family-friendly skit: The Worst Blackmail Imaginable.
Have a great weekend!
