In this edition of Conservative Comedy we take a look at infrastructure spending, transgender athletes competing in the Olympic Games, and how today’s church is indiscernible from the world.
But first, I’d like to share a few of my favorite one-liners:
- I know the voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!
- Money may not buy happiness, but it sure makes misery easier to live with.
- I used to be indecisive. Now I’m not sure.
- If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you!
- A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.
- The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
- Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
- Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Infrastructure spending has been in the news this week. Democrats and Republicans promise not to raise the gas tax to pay for it, but that doesn’t mean it won’t cost us in other ways.
Putting aside the obvious fact that America is already bankrupt and doesn’t have the money without new revenue — for example, a new carbon tax — Biden’s infrastructure plan is merely a slush fund plan to pay off political allies of the Democrat Party.
When it comes to infrastructure, government rarely keeps its promises when it comes to how they spend our money. In this Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus song parody, Reason TV’s Remy shows us how “infrastructure” spending usually has little do with infrastructure, and everything to do with politics.
We could take these funds for the old town road, and maybe build a brand new stadium
The summer Olympics are fast approaching, and it was recently announced that New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard will become the first transgender athlete to compete in the games after “her” country tapped “her” for its national team.
Is that fair? Are those who believe that only biological women participate in women’s sports simply being “un-inclusive?” AwakenWithJP answers these and other questions concerning this issue in this edition of We Lie To You News.
Thanks to the rise of the Fellowship of the Pharisees during Trump’s reign, Christian conservatives learned how the church has lost its way. No longer separated from the world, today’s church has fully embraced the prosperity gospel while abandoning the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Today’s church has become so much like the world that they have begun to sound like the world.
In this video from Christian comedian John Crist, we get an amusing look at what this looks like as he quizzes his buddies on the names of REAL establishments and they have to guess if it’s the name of a church or a weed shop. Holy smokes!
Keep score and play along at home!
That concludes our lighthearted look at infrastructure spending, transgender athletes, and today’s church. I hope you enjoyed it.
Have a great weekend!
