As Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton continue to demonstrate how far America has fallen morally and Constitutionally, forces outside of government continue to take advantage of our decline using activist judges to do what they’ve been unsuccessful in doing under the law.
On Friday, Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, Roy Moore, was suspended without pay for the remainder of his term for alleged ethics violations under the Canons of Judicial Ethics for Alabama Judges. And what was his abhorrent ethical breach? He enforced the law under the Alabama Constitution as it relates to same-sex marriage, specifically the Alabama Sanctity of Marriage Amendment, voted into law by 81% of the citizens in the state in 2006.
The suspension was the result of a complaint filed by the extreme left-wing, pro-LGBT, anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center—a member of the Gay Mafia that’s so far left that even the FBI considers them a fringe organization. Richard Cowan, the president of the group that claims to “combat hate, intolerance and discrimination,” was the perfect picture of love, tolerance, and acceptance in his official statement following the suspension:
“He disgraced his office and undermined the integrity of the judiciary by putting his personal religious beliefs above his sworn duty to uphold the US Constitution. Moore was elected to be a judge, not a preacher. It’s something he never seemed to understand. The people of Alabama who cherish the rule of law are not going to miss the Ayatollah of Alabama.”
Calling Moore “Ayatollah” is ironic when you consider that the SPLC actively defends Sharia Law, which would call for murdering homosexuals, let alone preventing them from getting married. But besides being a Christophobic bigot, and therefore a hypocrite, Mr. Cowen is simply wrong in his conclusion.
Judge Moore does take an oath to defend the US Constitution, and you won’t find same-sex marriage anywhere in that document. However, his oath also includes defending the Alabama State Constitution which contains Amendment 774, which makes same-sex marriage illegal in the state.
In addition, precedent dictates that the states have the authority to ignore Supreme Court rulings that contradict state law. That’s exactly how slavery was eventually abolished. Following the Dred Scott ruling which concluded that slaves and free blacks were not US Citizens, the Wisconsin State Supreme Court rejected the US Supreme Court on the basis that slavery was illegal in their state, and they declared the federal law unconstitutional.
America’s ignorance and disregard of the Constitution has caught up to us, and it’s allowing the LGBT radicals and the Gay Mafia to illegally advance their radical agendas.
