In a recent interview with ABC News, Hillary Rodham Clinton lip synced a classic Brenda Lee song in a lame attempt to put her email scandal behind her. After refusing for weeks to address the security failures that resulted from her use of a private email account, she said:
“That was a mistake. I’m sorry about that. I take responsibility, and I’m trying to be as transparent as I possibly can.”
I guess wiping the hard drives clean before turning them over to investigators was her way of being crystal clear on the contents.
Clinton told ABC News that she felt it was a mistake to use her private email account and acknowledged that she could have handled the resulting inquiries more effectively:
“I do think I could have and should have done a better job answering questions earlier. I really didn’t perhaps appreciate the need to do that.”
Yeah, it’s hard to appreciate the need to be honest when asked a question about breaking the law. But hey, at this point “what difference does it make?”
In another interview with the Associated Press, Clinton said it would have been a “better choice” for her to use separate email accounts for her personal and public business during her time at the State Department, but that the issue hasn’t damaged her campaign, and has been a “distraction, certainly.”
Funny how breaking the law muddies the waters. Wouldn’t you agree Mrs. Clinton?
We haven’t been able to find a copy of Hillary’s lip sync performance, so we leave you with the original hit song by Brenda Lee. I’m sure you’ll agree the lyrics express her sentiments exactly.
