Do you remember when George W. Bush let America know that he wasn’t just a conservative — he was a compassionate conservative? Besides his implication that being Conservative meant that you weren’t compassionate, we learned that what he really meant was that he was a progressive, big government Republican.
Before he left office in 2008, “W” exploded government spending in several areas unrelated to the increased defense spending post 9/11. Two of the most notable being Medicare Part D, which is projected to cost more than Obamacare, and the first $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (Obama had the second) which he would later justify by saying that he had “abandoned free market principles to save the free market.”
And while it had no direct impact on the budget, G.W. unsuccessfully attempted to help Congress pass the McCain/Kennedy immigration bill that would have granted amnesty to millions of illegals.
Well, Gutless On Principles (G.O.P.) Hall of Shame member, Jeb Bush, is launching his presidential campaign using similar compassionate conservative language in a video titled “Making A Difference.” Here are a few quotes:
“What we need is new leadership that takes conservative principles and applies them so that people can rise up.”
“(My) core beliefs start with the premise that the most vulnerable in our society should be in the front of the line, not the back.”
“You can improve the life of people, whether it’s in the programs for the developmentally disabled, or changing our economy, or fixing our higher education system. All of these things can be fixed. I am absolutely convinced of it.”
Clearly, Jeb’s version of compassionate conservatism doesn’t just sound like his brother, it will be expensive just like his brother’s was!
The campaign also unveiled the official campaign logo, which simply says “Jeb!” in large, bright red letters, avoiding any reference to the name “Bush.” Interesting, when you consider that Hillary Clinton is doing the same with her campaign, using just her first name with no reference to her last name.
The name Jeb is supposedly a nickname from from his legal name: John Ellis Bush. But as we all know, Jeb really stands for: Just Eliminate Borders.
America doesn’t need another mushy, milquetoast, middle-of-the-road compassionate conservative . . . America needs a STRIDENT CONSERVATIVE!
