Earlier this week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took his tyrannical reign up a level when he announced a plan to issue a handgun ban in Canada, and while no such plan has been announced in America, it’s an idea Joe Biden would like to see become a reality as part of his plan to destroy the Second Amendment.

“It will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere in Canada.”
In remarks made at the White House on Memorial Day following his visit to the site of a mass shooting in Uvalde, TX, Joe Biden, sounding eerily like Justin Trudeau, openly called for a ban on 9mm handguns before repeating a claim he’s made many times in the past about how “the Constitution was never absolute.” (via New York Post):
Biden’s statements about 9mm pistols are in keeping with his rhetoric before entering the White House. At a 2019 fundraiser in Seattle, for example, then-candidate Biden asked his audience: “Why should we allow people to have military-style weapons including pistols with 9mm bullets and can hold 10 or more rounds?”
According to Shooting Industry magazine, 9mm pistols accounted for 56.8% of all handguns made in the US during 2019. In all, more than 15.1 million 9mm guns were produced in this country during the 2010s. The possibility of outlawing or otherwise regulating such weapons is likely to be a non-starter among conservatives and gun rights advocates.
“Remember, the Constitution, the Second Amendment, was never absolute,” Biden said. “You couldn’t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed. You couldn’t go out and purchase a lot of weapons.” (Emphasis mine)
Leaving aside Biden’s ignorance and indifference concerning the Second Amendment for a moment — the Second Amendment did not place limits on individual ownership of cannons nor were there any regulations concerning gun ownership until decades after the amendment was passed — his desire to see handguns banned in America has been a work in progress from the beginning of his presidency.
Joe Biden began laying the groundwork last year for a handgun ban when his Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and his Department of Justice (DOJ) announced new steps to be taken to reduce gun violence.
Using the same gun-control ploy used by Trump to ban bump stocks by redefining the rifle attachment as a “machine gun” and therefore, making them subject to prohibition under the 1934 National Firearms Act banning machine guns, Joe Biden attempted to redefine pistols using stabilizing pistol braces as “short barrel rifles,” a change that would subject handguns to heightened regulations under the 1934 National Firearms Act.
By the way, Trump’s bump stock ban was eventually ruled unconstitutional by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Biden’s pistol brace rule is still under review, but if it becomes official, handguns equipped with such a brace would be illegal, requiring gun owners to either register them as rifles, forfeit them, or disassemble them. Failure to do so would subject them to being charged with a felony.
The DOJ defended the proposal in a statement:
“[W]hen individuals use accessories to convert pistols into short-barreled rifles, they must comply with the heightened regulations on those dangerous and easily concealable weapons.
“[Stabilizing braces] make it easy for people to convert pistols into these more dangerous weapons without going through the statute’s background check and registration requirements.”
If you’re wondering how this rule leads to Joe Biden eventually banning handguns, it’s because it will help establish the national gun registry he and the ATF have been working on while you were distracted with other things.
In a statement released by Gun Owners of America following the rule announcement — GOA was the plaintiff in the successful challenge to Trump’s bump stock ban — we see how banning all handguns is the ultimate goal:
Analyzing the proposed rule, it appears that ATF has intentionally designed its Factoring Criteria for Rifled Barrel Weapons with Accessories Commonly Referred to as “Stabilizing Braces” to effect a complete ban of every pistol-braced firearm currently on the market.
Specifically, ATF proposes to create a “worksheet” to be used to classify firearms as either legal pistols or illegal short-barreled rifles. Yet under that framework, literally nothing would count as a pistol. (Emphasis mine)
Biden’s pistol brace rule is “the largest gun registration, destruction, and confiscation scheme in American history,” Alex Bosco, who invented the stabilizing brace and founded the biggest manufacturer of them, told The Reload.
All of this is the result of Biden’s anti-gun executive actions announced in April 2021. That’s when he officially directed the DOJ and ATF to create proposals to ban so-called ghost guns and pistol braces in the aftermath of mass shootings in Georgia and Colorado.
Despite the obvious fact that he is laying the groundwork for eventually banning handguns, Biden has repeatedly claimed that his gun control agenda is completely within the confines of the Constitution and that none of our rights are “absolute.”
“Nothing I’m about to recommend in any way impinges on the Second Amendment,” Biden said in April 2021. “They’re phony arguments suggesting these are Second Amendment rights at stake with what we’re talking about. But no amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute.” (Emphasis mine)
Of course, Republicans are jumping on Biden’s recent statements about banning 9mm handguns as election year fodder, but as I wrote just yesterday, their cave to the Far-Left’s anti-Second Amendment agenda is already underway.
Justin Trudeau is planning a handgun ban for the citizens of Canada, and if Joe Biden has his way, they’ll be banned in America too!
