With the recent U.S. Senate confirmation of Catherine Lhamon as assistant secretary for civil rights at the U.S. Department of Education, Joe Biden has someone in his administration to help him promote the sexual abuse of children.

Like Obama before him, Joe Biden is a proponent of the radical LGBT agenda, and he has taken many of the same steps to advance it as Obama did — including the use of the Department of Education to focus on indoctrinating children.

In May 2016, after determining that “discrimination” against transgender students could be fought as a civil rights issue, Obama’s Department of Education (DOE) held a meeting with a group called Equality Michigan where the DOE committed itself to stay “aggressively engaged” in the fight to allow children to use whichever bathroom they choose promoting the sexual abuse of children.

In an early example of how this aggressive engagement would shape the LGBT narrative, Equality Michigan was granted a meeting with the Michigan State Board of Education to help educators draft a transgender guidance document designed to pressure Michigan schools into allowing children — without parental or doctoral input — to choose their gender, name, pronouns, bathrooms, and locker rooms:

“The responsibility for determining a student’s gender identity rests with the student. Outside confirmation from medical or mental health professionals or documentation of legal changes, is not needed.”

Shortly afterward, Obama’s Education Secretary, John B. King, Jr. suggested in a keynote address to the Education Writers Association that the Department of Education would use a never-before-used interpretation of Title IX to bully states into correcting what he termed “a terrible mistake” concerning so-called discrimination against transgenders.

Title IX protects students and school faculty from discrimination based on sex in education programs that receive federal financial assistance. If schools don’t comply with Title IX, they risk losing this money. It is enforced by the DOE’s Office of Civil Rights, and uses language similar to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Fast forward to May 2021. Joe Biden announces that he will use the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Department of Education to expand the definition of the federal civil-rights statute banning sex discrimination in federally funded education programs to include gender identity in order to force public and private schools comply. States that fail to do as he wishes will be taken to court.

“Today, the Department makes clear that all students — including LGBTQ+ students — deserve the opportunity to learn and thrive in schools that are free from discrimination,” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said in a statement at the time.

By the way, let’s not forget that Trump’s Supreme Court agreed with Obama and Biden when it ruled last year that homosexuals and transgenders are covered under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act — essentially rewriting the law.

The Obama/Biden connection and the plan to promote the sexual abuse of children via the Department of Education took another step forward with the confirmation of Catherine Lhamon (via Christian Headlines):

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday confirmed a controversial nominee to the U.S. Department of Education who served in the Obama administration and who critics say was an extremist on religious liberty and LGBT issues.

The Senate confirmed Catherine Lhamon as assistant secretary for civil rights at the U.S. Department of Education when Vice President Kamala Harris voted for Lhamon to break a 50-50 tie.

Lhamon also served as assistant secretary for civil rights during the Obama administration and then as chair of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

During her tenure, she wrote a letter telling public schools they were in violation of federal law if they prohibited students from using the restroom or locker room that matched their gender identity. The Obama rule, for example, permitted a biological boy who identifies as a girl to use the girls’ restroom. Schools also were considered in violation of federal law if they prohibited transgender-identifying students from playing on the gender-specific sports team of their choosing.

“A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so,” she wrote.

Additionally, Lhamon was slow to approve, and she even resisted exception requests by religious colleges and universities who wanted to follow their beliefs on LGBT and gender issues.

Did you catch the part about Catherine Lhamon’s hostility toward religious liberty when it comes to the LGBT agenda? That’s not a coincidence. Eliminating religious liberty is key to the Obama/Biden plan to make the government-sanctioned sexual abuse of children the law of the land.

In his his first address to the joint session of Congress earlier this year, Biden instructed members of the House and the Senate to join him in support of the radical LGBT agenda by passing the Equality Act, a pro-LGBT/anti-religious liberty piece of legislation that passed the House in 2019 and again in 2021.

The Equality Act (H.R. 5) codifies the LGBT agenda by revising the Civil Rights Act, and it allows no exceptions whatsoever churches and religious employers, organizations, and colleges. In the words of Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) when explaining the intention of the legislation, “Religion is no excuse for discrimination when it comes to sexual orientation or gender identity.”

In March 2016, the American College of Pediatricians issued a statement calling transgenderism, at best, a sign of “confused thinking” and not a “genetic marker of a [biological] disorder.” The statement described such thinking as a problem that exists in the mind and not the body and that “it should be treated as such,” and it concluded:

“Conditioning children into believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse.”

From bathrooms and locker rooms to the school sports teams, Catherine Lhamon will use the Department of Education to promote the government-sanctioned — and soon-mandated — sexual abuse of children, and that’s something that Biden and Obama (along with Trump and a few so-called conservatives) have supported for years.
