Justin Trudeau using ‘temporary’ Emergencies Act powers to create a permanent police state

Under the “Emergencies Act,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau used “temporary measures” to wield open-ended power to squash Freedom Convoy protesters for daring to reject his tyrannical reign, but now we are learning that he plans to use these temporary powers to build a permanent police state.

By evoking Canada’s Emergencies Act, which grants the federal government broad powers to restore order by seizing control of local authorities and placing them under federal authority, Trudeau was empowered to use military force to disrupt the protests. Canadian officials also plan to tow away vehicles at the protest to keep essential services running, freeze truckers’ personal and corporate bank accounts, and suspend the insurance on their rigs, according to the AP. (emphasis mine)

Trudeau weaponized and commanded the private sector to do the government’s bidding in crushing political dissent (via TorontoSun.com):

One of the most far-reaching implications of the Emergencies Act is what it prescribes for the Canadian financial system. According to the government’s new Emergency Economic Measures Order, every single bank, credit union, investment broker and insurance provider in the country has been deputized to figure out if they have a blockader as a client, and to immediately freeze their accounts if so.

Under normal circumstances, private companies arbitrarily seizing the assets of their clients is a great way to get sued. But the order makes clear that “no civil proceedings lie against an entity for complying with this Order.”

As for who can be targeted by these measures, that’s pretty broad too. The official proclamation says it applies to anyone participating in a “public assembly that may reasonably be expected to lead to a breach of the peace.” The general idea was to turn the blockaded areas of Ottawa into a “no-go” zone where anyone within could be arrested or their accounts frozen, but the Emergencies Act could conceivably be applied to anyone else interfering with “critical infrastructure” or disrupting the “movement of persons.” (emphasis added)

In a somewhat satirical take at the situation, I warned that Trudeau was ruling Canada like Emperor Palpatine ruled the Galactic Empire, and I also suggested that we could be witnessing the first steps towards greater abuses of power in the future.

And it looks like I was right.

Confiscating bank accounts. Targeting and removing children and pets. Doxxing financial donors. Stealing crowdfunding monies. These are just a few examples of the consequences of Trudeau’s “temporary” emergency power.

However, in an update on Justin Trudeau’s dictatorial abuse of power, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland informed Canadian citizens that the federal government will be making many of the “temporary measures” permanent to build a police state.

“In terms of the financial instruments which our government is using right now to act against these illegal blockades and illegal occupation. We reviewed very carefully the tools at the disposal of the federal government. And we used all the tools that we had prior to … the Emergencies Act, and we determined that we needed some additional tools.

“Some of those tools we’ll be putting forward measures to put those tools permanently in place. The authorities … need to be expanded to include crowd sourcing platforms and payment platform and payment providers. That’s something we need to do and will do and needs to be in place permanently.

“Some of these other tools like the sharing of information between law enforcement and financial services and the requirement of financial services to be reviewing their accounts proactively and the immunity from prosecution that we have provided to them for doing this—these are extraordinary measures, measures that we absolutely believe are necessary in the current circumstances that are having an impact, and I might say having a peaceful impact.

“The other aspect of the financial tools that I would point to as being effective and important is being clear that the insurance on trucks participating in these illegal occupations and blockades will be suspended. I don’t believe those tools should be part of the toolbox of the government in ordinary times but are necessary in these extraordinary circumstances, and they are having a very clear impact.” (emphasis added)

For those thinking these events have nothing to do with America, think again because Justin Trudeau’s police state could be the future of America.

For example, a few days after Justin Trudeau made the commitment to “respond with whatever it takes” to address the Freedom Convey, U.S. officials — including Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg — met with their Canadian counterparts to persuade them to use federal powers to bring an end to the blockades.

Earlier this month, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned federal and local law enforcement that truck driver protests like those in Canada could be coming to America. In preparation for such a protest, DHS released an advisory labeling people who spread “any information or opinions that are considered ‘anti-government’ [and] are considered a ‘threat’ to America’s national security” as domestic terrorists.

Joe Biden has been using “domestic terrorism” rhetoric as an excuse to deny people their right to protest the government concerning COVID via the use of his own police state.

A “police state” is defined as: a totalitarian state or country in which a national police force, esp. a secret police, suppresses any act that conflicts with government policy. (Random House Kernerman Webster’s College Dictionary, 2010)

Sounds exactly like Canada as Justin Trudeau executes his plan to use the temporary power of the Emergency Act to create a permanent police state.

It also sounds like where America will be in the very near future if we don’t stop it.
