Over the weekend, the nation preoccupied itself with the NFL’s continuing embrace of the Black Lives Matter movement and the ongoing culture war waged against America. Meanwhile, Trump and the GOP have been using the controversy as cover while they busied themselves with issues that carry serious implications on the future of our nation–Obamacare and immigration.
As the highly unpopular Obamacare Repeal legislation known as Graham/Cassidy struggles to find the necessary votes to pass in the Senate, backroom deals were being offered to buy those votes. Much like the “Louisiana Purchase” and the “Cornhusker Kickback” were used to buy votes for Obamacare, Trump and the GOP establishment are offering special paydays to Alaska, Arizona, Maine, and Kentucky in an effort to buy the votes of Lisa Murkowski, John McCain, Susan Collins, and Rand Paul.
Alaska, Arizona, Maine and Kentucky are big winners in the Healthcare proposal. 7 years of Repeal & Replace and some Senators not there.

On immigration, Sens. Thom Tillis (NC) and James Lankford (OK) have introduced legislation guaranteed to give Trump and his Democrat buddies, Chuck and Nancy, goosebumps on their goosebumps. Known as the SUCCEED Act—Solution for Undocumented Children through Careers, Employment, Education, and Defending our nation—the bill provides amnesty now and citizenship later for up to 2.5 million so-called DREAMers. Not to worry though, they will be vetted.

Wait a minute. I thought there were only 800,000 DREAMers enrolled in DACA. I’m not sure, but doesn’t this number make it appear that there are more DREAMers than we were being told? Or could it be the groundwork is being laid to sneak in a few more illegals not yet in the country? Either way, that’s a heap of new entitlement recipients, not to mention future voters.
Trump and his swamp buddies in the GOP ran on the promise to repeal Obamacare and fix illegal immigration by securing our border and reversing Obama’s unconstitutional executive orders such as DACA. Unfortunately, the “in name only” president and his party are doing neither.
Meanwhile… the rich, spoiled narcissists occupying the White House and playing in the NFL are arguing over whether or not to stand for our National Anthem. But hey, priorities. Right?
