Did you know that Obama’s Department of Justice is considering the possibility of filing lawsuits against the so-called fossil fuel industry for taking part in the denial of global warming?
Testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Loretta Lynch told them that “this matter has been discussed.” She added: “We have received information about it and have referred it to the FBI to consider whether or not it meets the criteria for which we could take action on.”
Lynch was responding to a question from Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), a man who can stand toe-to-toe with Al Gore when it comes to the myriad of things he will blame on global warming. But Whitehouse is also the driving force in the Senate pushing for the use of the nation’s racketeering laws (RICO) as a means of suing fossil fuel companies out of business, much like Bill Clinton attempted to do with the tobacco industry many years ago:
“The similarities between the mischief of the tobacco industry pretending that the science of tobacco’s dangers was unsettled and the fossil-fuel industry pretending that the science of carbon emissions’ dangers is unsettled has been remarked on widely, particularly by those who study the climate denial apparatus that the fossil fuel industry has erected.”
Not even an apples to apples comparison. Though the lawsuit against the tobacco industry was bogus in my view, there was conclusive evidence that smoking could be damaging to your health. However, there is no conclusive evidence that burning fossil fuels contributes to supposed global warming.
People like Whitehouse warned that global warming was shrinking Antarctic ice cover, but NASA documented in 2015 that it had reached record ice cover. Al Gore warned in 2008 that the entire North polarized cap would be gone in five years, but it still exists and is actually growing. And as so-called experts manipulate reports to make it look like temperatures are rising, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has documented that they have been trending down since 2005.
Liberals love control and the money they can steal from taxpayers to pay for their liberty-killing, nanny-state programs; especially when it involves sticking it to “big business.” It facilitates redistributing the wealth, fills the coffers of the Treasury, and lines the pockets of lobbyists and politicians.
And in the end, it puts another nail in Liberty’s coffin.
