In this season of manufactured partisan outrage and sectarian disinformation, independent conservatives are kicking and clawing to keep discernible policy outcomes in the spotlight. Despite what any politician says, the only news that isn’t “FAKE NEWS” is coming from the votes of our elected representatives on Capitol Hill.
It is challenging for grassroots activists and conservative media sources to dig through the layers of daily misinformation, smears and outright lies to get to the truth. But, to do so with a target on our back is nearly impossible. It is no secret that the voices conservatives depend on for accurate, honest political coverage are being silenced at an alarming rate.
It is glaringly obvious to even a novice conservative that policy no longer matters to Republicans on the Hill. We have entered a new, very frightening age in American politics. Concerns over big government, debt and deficit spending, anti-freedom proposals have been replaced by concerns over personality politics; better known as ‘My Team VS Your Team’ sectarian nonsense.
“Owning the libs,” the new Republican objective, is a futile effort for the right when what you now own is the entire far-left agenda that is contrary to everything the Republican party is supposed to represent. Republicans own all of the recent budget measures that continue funding every single Obama era initiative, Planned Parenthood, Obamacare insurance subsidies, refugee resettlement programs, DACA and sanctuary cities.
Additionally, with the recent Farm Bill that presents a Monsanto style, socialist government takeover of farming. The $900 billion dollar Farm and Food Stamp Bill bankrupts the nation, distorts agriculture and land-use markets, creates a monopoly for wealthy interests, and nationalizes our agriculture. Republicans, with a majority control of every branch of government, implemented the most egregious socially engineered takeover of land use and the economy since the Soviet Communist leader, Joseph Stalin’s five-year plan of 1928 that resulted in full communist government control of the Soviet economy. Republicans own it.
Furthermore, Republicans are responsible for the George Soros brainchild; the criminal justice reform bill, also known as the First Step Act. Conservatives accurately refer to the bi-partisan monstrosity as “JAILBREAK.” It essentially offers 53,000 federal pardons to the most advanced felons in America; including but not limited to drug cartel and violent MS-13 gang members. It is the antithesis of the reform planned by Ronald Reagan in the Criminal Justice Reform Act of 1982 that would make it easier to secure convictions of violent criminals.
Republicans in Congress promoted the lie that the First Step Act would only release “low-level, nonviolent” offenders. But, the bill actually does the opposite. It grants early-release credits to everyone and then writes in specific exceptions. Thus, any criminal category that is not enumerated among the exceptions will be eligible for early release. The list of exceptions includes crimes related to biological and criminal warfare, terrorism, espionage, kidnapping and assault of Supreme Court justices and a host of other egregious offenses.

Additionally, the latest series of recent unilateral executive level decisions are capable of making Obama blush. The executive order banning bump stocks that directly violates the 2nd,4th& 5th Amendment rights of every American. And, Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria is a move that is reckless and places U.S. interests and allies in imminent danger. It is a move that many in the Liberty wing of the GOP support. But, love it or hate it, it directly contradicts the advice of the experts on the ground in the region and leaves a vacuum for ISIS to become an even greater threat to America and the rest of the world.
If all of that isn’t enough, there is the government shutdown that neither side actually wants to resolve. It’s just more of the same ol’ sectarian Kabuki theater. Not that a real government shutdown would be a bad thing. But, it isn’t; which makes it even more repulsive.
If Congress was interested in a resolution, they would be on Capitol Hill fighting and not at home in their warm, fuzzy slippers. Republicans own it because the pledge never included holding the American taxpayer hostage to Trump’s agenda. So, if your congressman isn’t in Washington with pitchforks and torches fighting for Mexico to pay for a wall, fire them.
Republican voters have become pawns in the same agenda that they once vowed to wage war against; embracing and even actively promoting far-left, socialist policies that will guarantee big government and rob us of our freedoms. They are doing so for the sake of sectarian, WWE style, personality politics. This is risky business in which there are no winners, especially not conservative policy, and no one is being held accountable.
