Trump and establishment GOP destroying Conservatives

Trump and McConnell

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s win in Indiana, and the subsequent suspension of the Ted Cruz campaign, it’s now time to sort through the rubble of the Republican party. And while it would be easy for me to point to Tuesday’s primary results as proof of the GOP’s demise, the reality is that the party of Lincoln has been on life support since the 2010 mid-term election. Donald simply pulled the plug.

Still, the success of the narcissistic New York values real estate mogul played a big part. The Donald was able to tap into America’s obvious frustration with the John Boehner/Mitch McConnell Congress, but in the process of blowing up the RINO establishment, he created a lot of collateral damage when he also destroyed the base of the party. Trump’s cool with that, however, as he recently stated channeled his inner Jeb Bush when he said that he doesn’t need Conservatives to win in November.

In the end, Trump and the establishment Republicans have made Conservatives feel like strangers in our own party. They have brought us to the point where we need to put our money where our mouths are — to follow the lead of new breed Republicans like Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE).

  • I will not vote for Donald Trump simply because he has an “R” after his name.
  • I refuse to accept the false narrative that I must vote for the lessor of two evils.
  • I absolutely reject the claim of Trumpsters and establishment Republicans that this means I will be electing Hillary.

As Charles Spurgeon once said: “Of two evils, choose neither.”

Trump has held positions on both sides of nearly every issue important to Conservatives, like: abortion, the LGBT agenda, Planned Parenthood, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, Israel, gun rights, and illegal immigration — not years ago, but during his current campaign. He also favors higher taxes, abandoning NATO, inflation-inducing tariffs on foreign imports, raising the minimum wage and socialized medicine.

So, now is the time pray; to be strong. But in addition, it’s time to birth a new party that represents American Conservative values. To do otherwise is to surrender our great nation.
