The first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton was held last night. Depending on whose camp you’re in, the performance of these equally reprehensible candidates helped your guy and hurt the other. As a devout #NeverTrump and #NeverHillary voter, I’m not voting for either one of them. So regardless of how things pan out in the end, my focus will remain on my efforts to see America return to her Constitutional roots.
However, I do find myself agreeing with my friend Erick Erickson concerning the post-debate fallout. He wrote a piece on The Resurgent yesterday before the debate took place, and he expressed his desire to see Trump and Hillary succeed in tearing each other to shreds thinking that it will cause America to look elsewhere, or at the least look in the mirror and reassess the lack of seriousness of the several million voters who are to blame for these two creatures being on stage. Now that the first round of shredding has taken place, we’ll see how it shakes out.
Sadly, many low-information voters will be influenced by last night’s performance in this ever-tightening race. And this is why voter accuracy is vitally important. Unfortunately, the government is working overtime to do all it can to manipulate the system to its advantage.
In Colorado–a state vital to both candidates–officials have discovered “very serious” voter fraud after learning of several votes cast in multiple elections by dead people. When you consider that this election will be the first all mail-in presidential election, and where the law allows active and inactive voters to participate, the environment for fraud is obvious and comes as no surprise under the rules passed into law by the Democrat-controlled legislature in 2013. Still, several criminal investigations have been launched.
While Colorado is at least giving the appearance of trying to fix the problem, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit just issued a ruling requiring the Ohio Secretary of State to put hundreds of thousands of inactive voters back on the voter rolls. This edict overturns 20 years of established Ohio law–enforced by Democrat and Republican Secretaries of State–requiring the removal of inactive voters from the voting rolls.
By the way, the Sixth Circuit Appeals Court has a long track record of ruling incorrectly. They were overruled by the Supreme Court 96% of the time (24 out of 25 cases) between 2008 and 2013.
You may recall earlier this month when I covered efforts by Obama’s Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to nationalize our elections, putting control of the process in the hands of Washington. And I also told you about a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit that essentially gave illegal immigrants the right to vote in Kansas, Alabama and Georgia.
Any way you look at the 2016 election, from the candidates to dead and illegal immigrant voters, America is screwed!
