Donald Trump’s first few days in office have been a whirlwind of unconstitutional Executive Orders and Actions, but they pale in comparison to his “Stargate Project” announcement, an AI Infrastructure project with the expressed goal of destroying liberty, and in the end, humanity.
No wonder Trump called it “the largest AI infrastructure project in history” (via Ars Technica):
OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX announced plans to form Stargate, a new company that will invest $500 billion in AI computing infrastructure across the United States over four years. The announcement came during a White House meeting with President Donald Trump, who called it the “largest AI infrastructure project in history.”
OpenAI says the goal of Stargate is to kickstart building more data centers to expand computing capacity for current and future AI projects, including OpenAI’s goal of “AGI,” which the company defines as a highly autonomous AI system that “outperforms humans at most economically valuable work.” (Emphasis mine)
An AI infrastructure that outperforms humans? Troubling, but we must ask ourselves what other AI applications might be incorporated to destroy liberty and humanity. We find that answer in a presentation made by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison a few months ago to a group of investors.
Say hello to George Orwell’s 1984 and the beginning of a social credit system (via Ars Technica):
Ellison shared his vision for an AI-powered surveillance future during a company financial meeting, reports Business Insider. During an investor Q&A, Ellison described a world where artificial intelligence systems would constantly monitor citizens through an extensive network of cameras and drones, stating this would ensure both police and citizens don’t break the law.
Ellison outlined a scenario where AI models would analyze footage from security cameras, police body cams, doorbell cameras, and vehicle dash cams.
“Citizens will be on their best behavior because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on,” Ellison said, describing what he sees as the benefits from automated oversight from AI and automated alerts for when crime takes place. “We’re going to have supervision,” he continued. “Every police officer is going to be supervised at all times, and if there’s a problem, AI will report the problem and report it to the appropriate person.”
Ellison’s vision bears more than a passing resemblance to the cautionary world portrayed in George Orwell’s prescient novel 1984. In Orwell’s fiction, the totalitarian government of Oceania uses ubiquitous “telescreens” to monitor citizens constantly, creating a society where privacy no longer exists and independent thought becomes nearly impossible.
But Orwell’s famous phrase “Big Brother is watching you” would take on new meaning in Ellison’s tech-driven scenario, where AI systems, rather than human watchers, would serve as the ever-vigilant eyes of authority. Once considered a sci-fi trope, automated systems are already becoming a reality: Similar automated CCTV surveillance systems have already been trialed in London Underground and at the 2024 Olympics.
China has been using automated systems (including AI) to surveil its citizens for years. In 2022, Reuters reported that Chinese firms had developed AI software to sort data collected on residents using a network of surveillance cameras deployed across cities and rural areas as part of China’s “sharp eyes” campaign from 2015 to 2020. This “one person, one file” technology reportedly organizes collected data on individual Chinese citizens, leading to what The Economic Times called a “road to digital totalitarianism.” (Emphasis mine)
By the way, Ellison recently assured humanity that Stargate AI will also prevent future pandemics:
Larry Ellison: "It take takes a huge investment, but the result of the investment will be vaccines that prevent cancers, personal personalized medicine, where where we never again run into a problem like COVID 19 before because we get an early warning."

The AI information gathered by the Stargate Project would make building a social credit system as good as done — especially when you add digital currency to the mix.
Once implemented, digital currency puts every single cent of our money under full government control to be spent (or not spent) as the Republican/Democrat duopoly sees fit. On a practical level, this means that a digital dollar can, for example, be crafted to restrict fossil-fuel use or be programed to enact de facto price controls by preventing users from spending more money than government thinks they should on particular products.
One example of how this works comes to us courtesy of China’s CBDC (Digital Yuan), a digital currency tied to the country’s vaccine passport and social credit systems. Experts in the tech industry tell us that the digital platform used to create vaccine passports is the same platform used in China’s “social credit system.” Some of the areas tracked in real time by China’s “social credit system” are (via New Horizons):
- Medical history
- Social media posts and internet search history
- Bank accounts and credit cards
- Residence, employment, and criminal history
- Relationships and religious activities
- Political activity
This information is fed to a central database in real time to create a “social credit score” used to reward or punish citizens. Those with a high score are able to participate freely in society while those with a low score are prohibited from traveling, borrowing money, keeping a job, or even getting their children into school.
China doesn’t only track spending habits, it controls them — the ultimate goal of digital currency.
Now, if you think Republicans will protect liberty and humanity and keep Trump and his Stargate Project under control, think again.
Earlier this week, I wrote about the confirmation hearings of Pam Bondi, John Radcliffe, and Tulsi Gabbard and how Republicans were demanding adherence to Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) – a law that has been used to unconstitutionally engage in the mass surveillance of millions of Americans — as a condition for confirmation.
FISA Section 702 allows federal agencies to collect communications of noncitizens, outside the country, without a warrant, and it allegedly bars the government from spying on Americans, a claim repeatedly made by Senators Lindsey Graham and John Cornyn.
In the months leading up to the 2020 election, Trump and his Nationalist buddies in the Republican Party were working on reauthorizing key provisions found in the PATRIOT Act and FISA with the intention of expanding government’s power to spy on us.
This is when Trump joined Mitch McConnell to create a revised version of the PATRIOT Act that included provisions empowering the FBI to collect the web-browsing and search histories of Americans without a warrant and would give the attorney general’s office complete oversight of the FISA Court to ensure “accuracy and completeness” of FBI surveillance submissions to the secret Court. In the words of Sen. Ron Wyden at the time:
“Under the McConnell amendment, Barr gets to look through the web-browsing history of any American — including journalists, politicians, and political rivals — without a warrant, just by saying it’s relevant to an investigation.”
Do you remember the USA FREEDOM Act? It’s a law passed in 2015 to bring an end to spying and the bulk collection of metadata by agencies like the CIA and to rein in the FISA Court. Unfortunately, the FREEDOM Act failed, government continued spying, and the FISA Court kept its power when Trump and the Republican Party renewed FISA 702 in 2018.
Donald Trump’s AI “Stargate Project” should be stopped before it begins, but it won’t be because Washington is determined to destroy liberty and end humanity.
