With 2024 in the rear-view mirror and the road ahead pointing us to 2025, nefarious actors in both political parties are once again focused on destroying liberty and the Constitution. In the past, conservatives have willingly made New Year’s resolutions to defend our great republic against the Republican/Democrat duopoly, but that’s simply not enough any longer — what we need is a revolution.
Resolutions, much like the wild grasses that are here today and are burned in the ovens tomorrow (Matt. 6:30), are gone in a nano second. In fact, the second Friday of January (this year, it falls on January 10) is now known as “Quitter’s Day” because most people will abandon their New Year’s resolutions by then.
Based on the Latin word revolutio, the word revolution literally means “a turn around.” A fitting choice of words considering that the only chance we have of saving liberty and the Constitution will require a turn around from the direction Washington is taking us. However, unlike resolutions, a revolution can’t be something we give up on. A revolution takes effort, planning, dedication — and then more effort.
Revolutions are never a one-and-done situation. Revolutions are sometimes messy, but almost always necessary to bring about the change we need when government is leading us down the wrong road:
I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. … It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government. ~ Thomas Jefferson letter to James Madison, January 30, 1787
A great change is at hand, and our task, our obligation, is to make that revolution, that change, peaceful and constructive for all. ~ John F. Kennedy Civil Rights address, June 11, 1963
It’s healthy to reflect on the past year and make preparations for the new year, but after reflection, we need to go beyond empty, meaningless resolutions and prepare for rebellion and revolution.
Following the last four presidencies of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden, America now finds herself living in what can only be described as a defacto police state, a situation that will only grow worse once Trump moves back into the White House in a few weeks under the guise of fixing the immigration problem and rebuilding our broken economy (via Mises Wire):
One of the most common justifications for increasing state police and military power is that it guarantees the security of citizens. Without basic security, it is impossible for people to devote themselves to the pursuit of their social and economic goals. In the US there are proposals to send in the military to help enforce a crackdown on illegal immigration. In the UK, some police stations have proposed to send armed police patrols to Christmas markets, to keep traders and shoppers safe from terrorists. Yet it is less often recognized that the police state, which may be defined as “an enormous government apparatus of prisons, prosecutors, police, and bureaucrats,” is inimical to economic liberty. (Emphasis mine)
Rebellion and revolution against Trump and the Republican Party is absolutely necessary considering the fact that we are seeing a repeat of 2016 when he pretended to care about immigration and the economy to get into office and once there, reneged on his promises and began building his police state.
For example, a few weeks ago I wrote about Trump backing off of his promise to deal with illegal immigration — just as he did during his first term — when he announced that he would “work with Democrats to protect DREAMers from deportation” in an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker where she asked Trump about his plans to deport millions of undocumented people residing in the United States.
Welker asked Trump, “What about the Dreamers?” At first, Trump responded vaguely, “The Dreamers are going to come later, and we have to do something about the Dreamers.” As Welker pushed for a more specific answer, Trump said, “I will work with the Democrats on a plan…but the Democrats have made it very difficult.”
“Do you want them to stay?” Welker asked. “I do,” Trump responded. “I want to work something out.” Trump went on to say that “Republicans are very open to the Dreamers.” (Emphasis mine)
Recently, Trump announced that he would take the border crisis and use it as an opportunity to declare a national emergency that would allow him to use the military as a national police force.
Trump also plans to revive one of his 2016 agenda items concerning immigration (specifically, border security) to mandate biometric digital IDs. We have been told by Washington that these biometric digital IDs will only be used to control the border, but the technology used to create them can also be used to give government control over economic activity. The Central Bank Digital Currency currently being pushed by tyrants in both parties will make a biometric digital ID card the perfect companion to the CBDC and the coming social credit system.
Let’s also keep in mind that Donald Trump has embraced crypto currency as the answer to the national debt while conveniently leaving out the millions of dollars he stands to make from the idea. Jordan Libowitz, a spokesperson for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) said a future Trump administration would have wide latitude to impact crypto policy — and Trump’s own personal stake in the industry could potentially rub up against the best interests of the country.
Donald Trump has established himself as a man lacking any understanding and/or a complete disregard of the Constitution, yet the man about to assume the presidency remains an adversary of basic rights like Freedom of the Press and the Second Amendment who will, quite likely, ignore our constitutional rights and his responsibility to “protect and defend” them as he will be sworn to do.
As we make plans for the new year, let’s take a pass on making any resolutions and commit ourselves to roll up our sleeves, stand firm, and prepare fight a revolution to restore the Constitutional Republic created by the Founding Fathers–not only for ourselves, but for those who will follow in our footsteps.
Only then can 2025 be a truly Happy New Year.
