A few days ago, I wrote a piece about the generation of snowflakes populating college campuses across America and the safe zones used by these whiny crybabies to avoid having their delicate sensibilities offended by the words of people they found politically incorrect.
Upon reflection, I got to thinking about what America might look like when these touchy-feely, self-centered personalities leave college and enter the real world. Well, unfortunately, I think a recent situation involving the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania gives us a glimpse into the future.
In an op-ed written for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the ACLU is suggesting that School Resource Officers (SRO) stationed at Pittsburgh city schools should be unarmed when performing their duty protecting students.
Arming school police officers does not make schools safer. https://t.co/xcPfjEDew6

Is it because they think students will be safer if the police are unarmed? Nah, we’re talking about snowflakes in the workplace after all. According to the author of the op-ed, senior policy advocate for the ACLU of Pennsylvania Harold Jordan, the reason is because seeing a gun might hurt a student’s delicate feelings.
“Having officers patrol the hallways with firearms sends a negative message to students. It makes many students feel like they are being treated like suspects.”
Jordan goes on to say that schools shouldn’t be considered “security zones or criminal justice institutions,” a point easily dismissed by simply using common sense. For example, a bank isn’t a “security zone or criminal justice institution,” but they have armed securities to protect the employees. And I’m pretty sure those employees don’t feel like “suspects.”
As we learn in a piece on The Resurgent on this story, the fact of the matter is that armed SRO’s save lives. And students understand that fact.

Arapahoe HS shooter Karl Pierson was quickly cornered by an armed SRO, was unable to carry out his hit list.

As we have witnessed with the rejection of science proving that LGBT individuals aren’t “born that way,” facts are easily dismissed in order to keep a snowflake from melting on college campuses, so it should come as no surprise when we start to see the same thing in the real world.
